| breakfast at the airport |
The day had to come eventually and that was the day I would make my way home from Japan. It had crept up and then latched onto my leg not wanting to let go. I had to get up early, but had enough time for a coffee before going anywhere. I didn’t want to leave checkin for the last minute as I didn’t know how busy their security would get being Japan and heaps of people going through. I looked out my door to see if there was a trolley sitting near the door and they had all been taken away. I had to carry my bags down to reception to get a trolley, and then make my way to the airport as it was at least a 5 min walk. The line moved pretty quickly and I had to print a bag tag off once I realised the machines were there. It was actually pretty smooth going through security and through customs. The only thing I had to do was take off my boots and walk through.
While waiting to board as I had the time, I got some money changed to Australian dollars, but I have kept my Icoca card with its 4,000 yen on it for the next trip as that lasts around 10 years. It didn’t take very long for boarding to happen and I got to watch a few movies on the plane to Singapore and they gave lunch too. It was the usual run of the mill journey that I tend to do. We left at 9am and landed around 3pm. The only issue I seemed to have with Singapore was the face scanner didn’t like my face and asked a human for help. Though it was funny when I said I had nothing to declare and I got asked to put my bags through X-Ray and the people behind me seemed to have cigarettes in their bags. It didn’t take me long to get into Singapore from the airport and to my accommodation as I had it all paid for before hand. Singapore didn’t feel as hot as Japan, but I had only been walking around for a short amount of time. The funny thing about my room is that I seem to be in the room next door to what we had last year, but this one has one bed.
